2026

September 2026 — Authentication

  • New Authentication section for browsing and managing the Firebase Auth users of your connected Firebase project — separate from Firepanel's own team Users
  • View provider, status, and MFA info per user; reset passwords, send verification emails, revoke sessions, disable, or permanently delete accounts
  • Link a Firestore profile collection by uid to show and edit additional user data alongside their Auth record
  • Configure related collections (e.g. orders, subscriptions) to show a user's matching records inline
  • Optional search indexing via Algolia or Elasticsearch for filtering, sorting, and search beyond exact-match lookups
  • Available on the Startup plan and above

September 2026 — Backups: Firestore Data Export & Project Migration

  • Backups can now include a full Firestore data export, written to your own Cloud Storage bucket (requires the Blaze plan)
  • New Contents badges on the backups list — Configuration only, Database only, or Configuration + database
  • Restores now support Merge (non-destructive) or Replace (destructive) for data, plus per-section restore for configuration
  • New Migrate feature to copy configuration and/or data into another Firepanel project you own or administer
  • Backups, restores, and migrations now show a long-running progress panel with a stage checklist and percentage, and can be cancelled

September 2026 — Messaging Rebuilt: Campaigns & Audiences

  • Replaced the Send and Activity Log tabs with a unified Campaigns tab — inline delivery summaries, a per-campaign stats dialog, Duplicate and Delete actions
  • Replaced Segments with reusable, saved Audiences — condition-based (with a token-binding editor and live recipient-count preview), topic-subscriber, and test-device modes
  • Added A/B content variants (up to 5, with weighted split), per-variant locale overrides, and @field personalization placeholders
  • Added four scheduling modes: send immediately, schedule for later, repeat on a schedule (cron + timezone), and trigger by a per-recipient date field
  • Renamed Test Devices to Devices

September 2026 — Unified Onboarding & Project Creation

  • New unified onboarding wizard for first-time signups (up to 5 steps, including plan selection), and a matching flow for adding another project to an existing account (skips plan selection, bills to your existing subscription)
  • Connect a Firebase project via Google OAuth or by uploading a service account key
  • New Set Up Collections step scans your Firestore database and can generate content types automatically on finalize
  • New Configure Project checklist for required (Google Cloud APIs, Firebase, Firestore) and optional (Vertex AI, Cloud Storage, Billing) Google Cloud services
  • Retired the standalone "Import Project" flow — importing an existing Firebase project is now part of onboarding

July 2026 — AI Content Generation

  • Added AI content generation powered by Vertex AI (Gemini), running on your own Google Cloud project
  • Generate content types with AI — describe a content type in plain language and let AI design its fields (collections, sub-collections, or reusable components)
  • Generate documents with AI — create sample records in bulk (up to 25) or a single document from a prompt, written directly to Firestore
  • New AI tab in project settings with availability checks and an enable toggle
  • Available on the Startup plan and above

July 2026 — Firestore Enterprise

  • Added support for Firestore Enterprise with full-text native search
  • Added support for Firestore Enterprise Standard or with MongoDB compatibility

April 2026 — Console 2026

New Console (Next.js)

Complete rebuild of the Firepanel console from the ground up using Next.js, React, and ShadCN UI. This is a major milestone — the new console replaces the legacy Vue 2 application.

  • Rebuilt with Next.js for improved performance and SSR
