Migrating a Project

Copy a Firepanel project's configuration and Firestore data into another project you own or administer.

Migration copies configuration and/or Firestore data from your current project into a different Firepanel project you own or administer — for example, moving from staging to production, or cloning a project as the starting point for a new client.

Note:

Migration works between projects reachable by your own Firepanel account. It is not a cross-account or cross-vendor export.

Migrating a Project

1

Open the Backups tab

Navigate to Settings → Backups and click Migrate.

2

Choose the target project

Pick a destination project from among the projects you own or administer.

3

Choose what to copy

Check Firepanel configuration, Firestore data, or both — same options as creating a backup.

4

Choose a write mode

  • Merge (default) — copied documents overwrite same-ID documents in the target; everything else untouched. Non-destructive.
  • Replace — wipes the target project's matching collections first. Destructive.
5

Confirm

Firepanel shows a warning naming the target project. Type the target project's ID to confirm, then click Migrate. Progress is shown in the run panel.

Note:

Migrating Firestore data has the same requirements as a data backup — it reuses the same export.
