Audiences

Build reusable, structured audiences in Firepanel to target specific groups of users with push notification campaigns.

Audiences are saved, reusable definitions of who a campaign should send to. A campaign always targets exactly one audience, and the same audience can be reused across multiple campaigns.

Audiences List

Navigate to Messaging → Audiences to see all audiences for the project.

Note:

"Everyone" isn't a separate mode — it's simply a condition-based audience with no filter conditions set, so it matches every document in the collection.

Creating an Audience

1

Click New Audience

On the Audiences page, click + New Audience and give it a name and label.

2

Choose a mode

  • People matching a condition — target users based on data in a Firestore collection (see below)
  • Topic subscribers — target users subscribed to one or more topics, up to 5 at once
  • Test devices — target one or more registered devices
3

For a condition-based audience, configure it

  1. Choose the Firestore collection to query
  2. Set up the token binding — tell Firepanel where FCM registration tokens live on matched documents: a single field, an array, a map, a subcollection, or a separate "join" collection keyed by user ID. You can optionally enable Delete invalid tokens so Firepanel cleans up tokens FCM reports as permanently invalid, and set a locale field to support per-recipient locale personalization in campaigns.
  3. Build your filter conditions, combined with AND/OR groups (for example, plan is 'premium' AND platform is 'android')

A live recipient count preview updates as you refine the conditions.

4

Save

Click Save. The audience is now available to select when creating a campaign.

Using an Audience in a Campaign

When creating a campaign, select the audience from the picker. Firepanel resolves matching recipients at send time.

Note:

An audience that's still referenced by an active (non-terminal) campaign can't be deleted — Firepanel will tell you which campaign is blocking it.
